Brandon 3 - Cranbrook 2  ( OT)

Woodhaven  2 -  Southgate  0
Hard fought game between these local rivals.  A replay of last season.  Very entertaining and exciting game to watch.  Both teams fought like there was no tomorrow, neither giving an inch.  The Warriors of Woodhaven and the Titans of Southgate both had several great opportunities but both keepers played great.  Half time 0-0.  Second half, play continued with both defenses doing well.  At the 25 minute mark, when both coaches were starting to think OT, Matt Lynch scored for the Warriors.  This was Matt's first day back after his appendix operation.  In a goal mouth scramble, Blake Trimble headed on to the underside of the crossbar...the ball rebounded and Matt and the Titan keeper fought for the ball, with Matt getting his head to it to make the score.   Play became even more intense with Woodhaven prepared to protect their lead and the Titans trying to even the game.  Very exciting.   Less than one minute left in the game, Sean Tarolli won the ball around the half way mark, slid the ball to Shane Theisen who worked his way around a defender and carried the ball 50 yards....inside the 18 yard box he side-steps the keeper and slides the ball into the empty net.  Marvelous individual effort.  This was a very close game..one that could have gone either way. Just a shame that there had to be a loser.  Dustin Salliotte had the Warrior shut-out.  Season record for the Warriors...o/all  11-9-1.....Southgate....o/all 8-8-2.
