IGNITION FALL TO STORM, 9-2, IN CHICAGO

Hoffman Estates, Ill. – The Detroit Ignition (11-5) were
defeated 9-2 tonight by the Chicago Storm (11-5) at Sears Centre Arena. The
two clubs are now tied for first place in the Major Indoor Soccer League.
Chicago midfielder Matthew Stewart scored the only points of the first half with
a pair of two-point goals in the second quarter. Ignition forward Jamar Beasley
added two points for Detroit at 5:06 in the third quarter, but Chicago’s Randy
Soderman and Stephen Armstrong tallied five points in the game’s final stanza to
give the Storm a 9-2 victory.
The Ignition will host the expansion La Raza de Monterrey (6-10) on Sunday,
January 27 at Compuware Arena at 4:35 pm.
