Bloomfield Hills Lahser 1 - Rochester Adams 1
At
Bloomfield Hills. Lahser and Rochester Adams played to a 1-1 tie in an OAA Red
Division match. Lahser carried play most of the First half, but the lone period
tally came on an "own goal" of a Adams corner kick giving the Highlanders a 1-0
lead. Lahser knotted the score shortly into the 2nd half, on Jake Landis' goal
with a nice feed from Alex Landschulz. Each team had several more opportunities,
but could not convert. Lahser goalie Evan Wahl stopped 5 of 6 shots, and Brett
Wietecha headed away a point blank shot in a late Adams frenzy to help preserve
the tie.

never found a rhythm. However, did find a way to win on an off night. Birch Run
Keeper Kevin Abdella 3 saves on all three shots allowed by the Defense. Kevin

Braves Monday night, 7-3. The Oscoda boys soccer team last beat the Braves in
the 2001 District Championship match. The Owls are off to a hot start and stand
at 7-1 on the season. They are now 1-0 in the newly formed Huron Shores
Conference. They will play their second conference match on Wednesday in Alcona

Osocda opened the scoring at the 7:39 mark when Kevin
Leveille hit Kyle McCausey with a through pass the McCausey hammered into the
net. Less than two minutes later McCausey hit Kyle Wheatley with a pass that he
buried in the goal. The Owls took a 3-0 lead a minute later when Josh DeOrnellas
flipped a Direct Free Kick into the box that McCausey headed into the back of
the net. Tawas came roaring back when Talal Abadallah put them on the scoreboard
just nine seconds later. Before Oscoda could recover Tawas cut the lead to 3-2
when Kyle Stonehouse scored at the 11:41 mark. Oscoda found the net at the 15:28
mark when Brenden Eberhardt finished an Anthony Alderete pass. Oscoda built
their halftime lead when Wheatley bent a ball over a Tawas wall from a Free Kick
at the 34:02 mark.
Alderete nailed two goals for the Owls at 51:08 and 56:39.
Wheatley picked up the assist on the first goal and Evan Dennis earned the

Ypsilanti Lincoln 1 - Madison Heights Bishop Foley 0
Having a
week off between games seemed to have an effect on the Railsplitters for a good
portion of the first half. They controlled the play of the game, but seemed
unable to find the right connection to get past a strong Venture team. Play was
back and forth until 5 minutes into the 2nd half when Jimmy Vanhorn made a great
run from his outside back position to set up a nice cross and finish by Connor
Smith. The Railsplitter defense was the key. Outstanding game by Evan Kohler,
Joel Yankey, Scott Chatfield and Jimmy VanHorn insured the victory for Lincoln.
The Lincoln defense held Bishop Foley to 0 shots on frame. Jeremy Ritchey earns
his 6th shutout of the season. Lincoln moves to 8-2 on the season. Next up, an

2:21 left. PCA is 6-1-1 overall and now plays in the championship game against
the winner of the Cranbrook/Freedom Christian semi-final at the Liggett
Invitational on Saturday afternoon at 3:30.
Woodhaven 4 - Melvindale 2
The Warriors of Woodhaven took
all three points from their trip to Melvindale for a Downriver League game. The
Warriors were not really free wheeling tonight, possibly because of a long game
delay. Their offensive punch was missing for quite a while and the fortified
Melvindale defense made it tough for them to penetrate the 18 yard box. Despite
the bulk of possession, there were very few quality opportunities but credit
must go to a very determined opponent. HT 0-0. Second half, it was the host
Melvindale who were first on the score board. This happened as the Warriors
kicked off to start the second half. Very weird goal indeed. The Warriors passed
back to their midfield, who in turn dummied it for the next player who passed it
back to a defender....not accurate enough and as the ball went back towards the
their own goal, a mis-communication between the keeper and a defender allowed a
Cardinal player to get his foot on it and put the ball in the net for their
lead. There was 27 seconds on the clock. The Warriors began to take control and
tied the game at the seven minute mark when Mario Konja scored. This was
followed by another at the 11 minute mark when Josh Dwornick scored. A little
relief for the Warriors. Woodhaven scored number three at the 28 minute point of
the half when Tony DiResta scored after breaking through the Cardinal defense
and catching the keeper's left side. This was a assisted by Mario Konja. At the
38 minute spot, Merrick Konja received the ball from Daniel Scipione on the
right wing and chipped the ball over the keepers head to give the Warriors some
breathing room. The Cardinals pulled one back with less than a minute left to
play to reduce the deficit to two goals. Credit to the Cardinal team. They
worked hard and never gave up and while never really dangerous, they were able
to shut the Warriors offense down. Excellent performances from Warriors players,
John Mertic, Daniel Scipione and Nick Foggia. The Warriors season record stands
at 5-1-0 in the DRL and 6-1-0 o/all. Melvindale are 3-2-0 in DRL

PCA Stays Undefeated With A Win
Over Liggett.
University of Liggett came to PCA and drew blood first. In the
first 10 minutes of the game Capt. Joseph Simon blew past outside right back
defender, Jacon Bailey, and tucked one in the left corner of the net past PCA
goalkeeper Jayme Putney. About 10 minutes later PCA leveled the score as PCA
junior capt., Dan Mullett, moved in and out throughout the Liggett defenders and
laid a brilliant cross that junior forward Alex Chapman buried in the left
corner. Liggett went up 2-1 as forward Austin Kidder kicked in a loose ball in
front of the PCA net. Again, PCA came back to even up the score as sophomore Dan
Ross rocketed a beautiful 25 yard left-footed blast past ULS goalkeeper junior
Mike Meyering. It went to half tied at 2-2.
In the 2nd half a determined PCA
scored first as junior Dan Mullett slotted in a quick shot into the right corner
of the net. The 4th and last goal of the game for PCA came from Dan Ross as he
scored on a long 40 yard run and shot past the keeper. Liggett was held
scoreless in the 2nd half in spite of great pressure on PCA's defense. Senior
captain and PCA sweeper, Travis DeKruyter, played outstanding defense along with

minute mark, Mario Konja converted a penalty kick for a two goal lead. Half time
2-0. Second half, still very competitive, but it was the Warriors who notched
the next goal when Tony DiResta won the ball and side stepped the keeper to
slide the ball into the open net, following a pass from Alan Guzman. Three
minute later, Tony grabbed his second when he won the ball from his keeper's
punt and worked his way past two defenders before sliding the ball into the
corner of the net. Assist to Jamal Safah. At the 25 minute mark Tony DiResta
completed his hat-trick when he out-hustled a defender to gain some room and cut
inside the 18 yard box, before firing a nice shot into the corner of the net.

Sometimes it’s not the forwards who have the
highlight real. Tonight’s game for the first 80 minutes was full of outstanding

crossing ball to Dustin who was running to the net. The pass was perfectly timed
and Dustin headed the ball into the back of the goal.

past PCA's freshman keeper Jayme Putney who did an otherwise great job in net.
Dan Ross' second goal came exactly half way through the 2nd hald where he buried

Harbor Beach Soccer @ USA Tournament
Harbor Beach 1 - Cros-Lex 0
Harbor Beach 2 - Saginaw Valley Lutheran 1
Harbor Beach 2 - Bad Axe 1
Harbor Beach opened its 2010 season at the USA
invitational Tournament. The Pirates began their quest for a successful season
with a tough match against Cros-Lex. In the 30 minute games, controlling the
pace is important, and Harbor Beach did just that. Following several good
scoring chances Seth Guza tallied the only goal of the game from the right side
He placed the ball in the far upper corner of the goal. Tyler Mausolf earned the
assist. The Pirates out shot the Pioneers 8-3. Brad Siemen earned his first
shutout.
Harbor Beach advanced to play Saginaw Valley Lutheran School and was
met with a physical, fast-paced game. Dustin Mazure scored first for the Pirates
in the first minute. He received a pass from Scott Grekowicz, pushed into the
penalty box on the left side and shot. The shot hit the onrushing keeper and
popped into the air, arching into the goal as two defenders for Valley Lutheran
scrambled back in an attempt to make the save.
In the second half, Valley
tied up the game with a goal by Adam Kundinger in the seventh minute. Kundinger
claimed a short goal kick just outside the penalty box, dribbled acrossed the
center to the right side and send a short chip over the keeper for the score.
Seth Guza scored the winning goal with just a few seconds left to give the
Pirates their second victory. He trapped a lofted pass from Grekowicz and
bounced the ball in from 12 yards out on the right side. Aaron O’Neil earned the
win as keeper.
With the win the Pirates advanced to the championship game
against the Bad Axe Hatchets, winners over host USA. Harbor Beach jumped on the
Hatchets with a quick goal 22 seconds into the game. Seth Guza drove the ball to
the right corner and sent a crossing pass over to Andrew Siemen at the far left
post. Siemen leaped into the air and headed the ball down into the goal on a
pretty play.
In the 14th minute, the Hatchets tied the score. The hatchets
took a hard shot from about 25 yards out. The HB keeper bobbled the ball and Bad
Axe’s left forward was there to finish the play at the goal.
Early in the
second half Andrew Siemen scored again when Scott Grekowicz sent a perfect pass
to through the defenders on the left side. Seimen took a quick shot to the near
left post that was just out of the keepers reach.
Harbor Beach will play on
Monday in Brown City at 5 PM.
